Invisiblites welcomes completed articles and pitches. Please consider the following guidelines before sending your piece. We aim for articles that have an extended shelf life and cater to a diverse audience. Send your contributions to invisiblites@gmail.com with the relevant category in the subject line. Please allow us at least three days to respond before sending your piece to another publication. We require that all submissions be original and not previously submitted to or published elsewhere.
- Socio-Political
Go beyond the humdrum of daily news, provide a unique perspective, and write to last. The ideal length in this category is 1000 – 1500 words.
- Art & Culture
Vivid, acute, and critical – write to inspire. The ideal length in this category is 1000 – 2000 words.
- Poetry
We welcome lyrical, reflective, and experimental poetry – whether personal, political, or philosophical. Please use clear line breaks and spacing, and submit in Word format.
- Stories & Letters
Share your local stories and experiences – folklore, taboo, motivational encounter, or an ordeal with the social structure. This category does not have a preferred word count, but please keep it concise.
Please send an author bio with your submission.
Structuring
While structuring your piece, please consider the following approach:
- Lede or Hook
- Thesis Statement
- Argument, Evidence, and Data
- Conclusion
